About end-to-end test automation
End-to-end test automation is a software-based search for bugs in the functionality of a digital connection. The all-in-one test automation framework by QiTASC has it all for your service to become number one!
What is end-to-end test automation?
What is a framework?
Test
A test verifies whether your product, service or process behaves as expected. In telecom environments, this may include voice, messaging, mobile data, app flows, and more.
End-to-endÂ
End-to-end testing means validating the complete service journey rather than isolated components. A test may start on a mobile device, continue through an app, trigger network processes, verify interface responses and confirm that the expected result is visible to the customer or operations team.
Automation
Automation means that tests are executed by software with little or no manual interaction. Automated testing executes validations consistently and tracks them with clear metrics. It is scalable across growing network complexity.
Framework
A test automation framework orchestrates the complete process: Device control, test execution, interface integration, artifact collection, result verification and reporting. The QiTASC end-to-end test automation framework is called intaQt.
How does end-to-end test automation work?
Step 1: Test scope definition
First, define what needs to be tested. The scope is split into clear customer journeys with technical processes and verification points.
A well-defined scope ensures that the right devices, interfaces, systems and KPIs are included from the start.
For telecom services, this may include app usage, SIM activation, voice calls, SMS delivery, mobile data sessions, router connectivity, roaming, provisioning, charging, CDR validation or API-based service checks.

More InformationStep 2: Test case scripting
A test case lists the steps that are required to validate a specific process. A test case can, for example, open an app or press a button.
QiTASC test cases are designed to be reusable. We have also integrated a component which supports intent based testing, similar to exploratory testing.

More InformationStep 3: Execution
During execution, the framework performs the defined steps automatically. It interacts with real devices, apps, user interfaces, and backend systems. It collects artifacts and verifies technical parameters.

More InformationStep 4: Report and analysis
Every execution generates structured results. intaQt collects the relevant evidence each time, such as screenshots, logs, traces, CDRs, API responses, timestamps and verification data.
Reports and dashboards show pass/fail results, verification parameters, KPI trends and potential root causes of failed steps. This helps to understand what happened during a test run and why it might has failed.

More InformationAutomated vs. manual testing
Manual testing is useful for exploratory checks, one-time validations and user experience reviews. However, it does not scale well for complex telecom environments with many releases and customer journeys.
Automated testing is best for repetitive, business-critical and technically complex scenarios. Once a test case is implemented, it can be executed again with consistent precision.
The strongest approach combines both: Manual testing where human judgement is required, and automation where speed, repeatability, evidence and scale matter most.
The value of using automated tests is measurable.
Benefits of the test automation framework by QiTASC

Protect service quality
Validate complete service journeys across devices, apps, networks and backend systems. This ensures that services work as expected from the customer perspective.

Zero-touch execution
Once scheduled, tests run automatically.

Real devices and real networks
Real devices, SIMs, apps, routers and network connections validate services under realistic conditions.

Broad automation coverage
intaQt supports app and UI automation, interface integration, backend checks, network-related validation and results as dashboards.

Early defect detection
Automated tests identify defects early in the production cycle, before they reach customers.

KPI dashboards & reports
Artifacts and technical evidence are collected automatically with every test execution and displayed in reports and dashboards.

24/7 Production Monitoring
Our automation capabilities can also be used in production networks: Continuously monitor services end to end and detect issues early.

Reduced cost and effort
Automation reduces repetitive manual work, which shortens validation cycles. This helps customers release faster, operate more reliably and reduce quality-related risk.

Reusable test assets
Test cases are stored in git and can be reused. This increases the long-term value of each automation investment.

AI support
AI enables testing without skripting knowledge, helps to generate test cases, analyzes logs and detects anomalies.

Managed testing
You can also hand over the testing to our team.
